John Fredrick William Thiede IV, age 60, of Hays, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his home. He was born January 24, 1961, at Wausau, Wisconsin to John Fredrick W. and Darlene S. (Witter) Thiede. He married Cassie M. (Miller) on April 8, 1989, at Burlington, Colorado.
He was a line haul truck driver and rancher. John grew up and attended high school in Burlington, Colorado. He worked with his brothers in a cattle operation and a trucking company until moving to Hays in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Cassie Thiede, of the home; two sons, JT Thiede and fiancé, Kalesha Ellis, Burlington, CO; Cody Thiede and wife Anna, Victoria, KS; one daughter, Tiffanie Rohr and husband, Nathan, Hays, KS; one brother, Glen Thiede and wife, Sheryl, Midas, NV; five sisters, Charlayne Bancroft and husband, Jay, Vona, Co; Evone Waggoner and husband, Gregg, Quinter, KS; Kristine Richardson and husband, Eric, Burlington, CO; Paulette Thompson and husband, Rod, Stratton, CO; Debra Thiede and Danny Hill, Winnemucca, NV; two grandchildren, Lauraine Evans Thiede and Delilah Rose Thiede; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Justin Thiede and Walter “Wally” Thiede; one sister-in-law, Kim Thiede; three nephews, Jay Thiede, Trent Thiede and Evan “Bubba” Bancroft; and one niece, Dallas Thiede.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2703 Fort Street, Hays, Kansas with Pastor Brenda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady Help of Christian Cemetery, Antonino, Kansas,
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601 and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
