👟 Quinter boys, Ness City girls state champions; Area results

WAMEGO - The KSHSAA cross country season came to a close with state championship races on Saturday. The 1A team championship trophies will land in western Kansas. Quinter boys won the state title ahead of Ness City. The Ness City girls win the 1A girls championship at the Wamego Country Club.

Two area individuals also return as state champions. Avery Boydston of Ellis won the 1A girls championship less than one second ahead of her sister Taryn.

Madison Howland is the 2A girls champion for Smith Center. The Redmen finished third as a team.
