EDMOND, Okla. – Fort Hays State fell in the series finale at Central Oklahoma on Sunday by a score of 15-5. The Tigers moved to 9-22 overall and 6-15 in the MIAA, while the Bronchos moved to 16-15 overall and 7-10 in the MIAA.

Central Oklahoma never trailed and scored the first two runs over three innings. The Tigers cut the Broncho lead in half in the fourth with their first run, a sacrifice bunt RBI by Tony Moore. But, the Bronchos started to run away with the game by scoring six in the bottom of the fourth. The Tigers couldn't keep pace the rest of the way as UCO scored seven and FHSU scored four over the final three innings. A three-run seventh for the Bronchos invoked the run rule.

Fort Hays State's best offensive inning was the sixth, scoring three runs. Antonio Avila drove in two runs on a single and Cooper Howell also singled in a run. Avila and Derek Woolwine accounted for half of the Tigers' eight hits, each with two.

Karter Beving took the loss, going 3.0 innings in his start. He allowed five runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Aaron Boutz, Caleb Camp, Luke Berry, and Braxton Madrigal all had relief appearances for the Tigers.

Logan Taylor of Central Oklahoma was the winning pitcher, going 5.0 innings in his start. He scattered five its and struck out five with two runs allowed (one earned).

Next up for the Tigers is a three-game series with Pittsburg State in Hays next week (Apr. 2-4).
