
H. Dean Danielson, the son of Frank Andrew Danielson and L. Lucille (Kelly) Danielson, was born February 28, 1936, in rural Republic County near Talmo, Kansas. He passed away on April 27, 2025, in Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 89.
Dean grew up on the family farm north of Talmo, Kansas, attending the Talmo, Prairie Grove, and Grant grade schools. He graduated from Belleville High School in 1955.
In 1954, he entered the Army National Guard, where he served for 8 ½ years, including one-year active duty stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class.
In 1958, Dean began working at Alsop Sand Company and later at Abram Ready- Mix in Belleville, where he was employed for nearly 50 years until his retirement in 2005.
On May 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Darlene Dowell and to this union one daughter, Denise was born. The couple made their home in Belleville, KS.
Dean enjoyed gardening, watching KU Jayhawks basketball and the New York Yankees, and keeping detailed stats for their games. He also loved spending time with friends at coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Danielson; his wife, Darlene in 2022, and his brother Don Danielson.
Dean is survived by his daughter, Denise Danielson of Hays, Kansas; cousins, other relatives; friends, and his beloved cat, Spotty.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Phil Goombi, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Belleville Cemetery.
Viewing and visitation will be from 1 PM until 7 PM, Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Friday.
