⚾ Offense leads the way in Larks 5th straight win

HAYS – The Hays Larks offense exploded for double-digit runs for a fifth straight game as they ran their win streak to five in-a-row Thursday with a 13-2 run-rule victory over the Colorado Roughriders.

The Larks (9-2, 6-1 RMBL) scored single runs in the first and second innings to build a 2-0 lead.

Dylan Dreiling's RBI infield single gave Hays a 1-0 lead in the first inning and Austen Jaslove’s RBI single in the second made is 2-0.

After Colorado got a run back in the fourth inning to make it 2-1, the Larks offense came alive scoring six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hays recorded five straight singles and a hit-by-pitch to open the inning.

Dreiling’s second RBI single made it 3-1. Jackson Halter drove in two more with an RBI single and then Tanner Rice singled home two making it 8-2 Larks.

Hays’ bats got going again in a five-run seventh that was capped off by a two-run homerun from Tyler LaRue sealing the 13-2 run-rule victory.

Five Larks recorded multiple hits led by the three for Jackson Halter.

Five Larks also drove in two runs each.

Halter was three-for-three with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Coby Grimsly got the win, he allowed just one run on four hits with one strikeout.

The Larks host the Roughriders in series finale Friday at Larks Park.
