KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's soccer team moved to No. 14 in this week's United Soccer Coaches national poll, released Tuesday by the coaches organization.
This is the 17th straight poll that has mentioned Fort Hays State dating back to October 2024, the longest streak in program history. The Tigers have been a staple in the top 25 since their inception 15 years ago, earning a spot amongst the nation's best at least once in 13 of those 15 seasons while receiving votes at least once in the other two.
After opening the year at No. 3, the Tigers defeated then No. 13-ranked Rockhurst in the season opener by a score of 4-1. FHSU then fell to Regis two days later, with the Rangers playing their first match of the year. The win helped Regis jump to No. 20 in the poll, while Rockhurst is now unranked.
The Tigers will play at home again on Wednesday (Sept. 2) when they host William Jewell beginning at 7 p.m. before opening a three-game road trip over the weekend.
