GREAT BEND - The Hays High Indians girls' cross country team qualified for the 5A state meet with a third place finish at the Great Bend regional held at the Lake Barton Golf Course Saturday morning.
Arely Maldonado placed 7th with a time of 20:14.53. Brynn Kinderknecht was 14th, Brenlynn Albers 17th and Jaycine Watson placed 20th. Mika Zimmerman was 22nd, Cara Cunningham 24th and Avery Winter 25th.
Elijah McCullough was the lone qualifier on the boys side, medaling in 9th place.
The Indians will run at Rim Rock in Lawrence next Saturday.
