Dennis Matthew Rome, age 58, of St. Peter, Kansas passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at Hays Medical Center. He was born Oct. 11, 1962 in WaKeeney, Kansas to Sylvanus "Syl" and Firma Jean "Jeannie" (Rupp) Rome.
Dennis was a mechanic with Shaw Motors in Grainfield. He enjoyed participating in karaoke, tinkering with cars and listening to Elvis. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney and a 3rd-degree Ellis Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his father, Syl of St. Peter, Kansas; a brother, James Rome and wife Sandy of Ellis and a sister, Lucinda Smith of Alma, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Rome and a sister, Malinda Deel.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney. Burial will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time, all at the church.
A combined parish vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ the King Church, St. Mary's Church or Masses.
