Doyle Neher, 89, Pfeifer, died Friday, July 10, 2026 at HaysMed surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 25, 1937, in Oswego, the youngest of four sons of Roy and Wava (Long) Neher.  Doyle graduated from Oswego High School then attended McPherson College for two years followed by a semester at Kansas State University.  On June 3, 1958, he was united in marriage to Sharon Bailey in Curlew, Iowa.  Doyle’s family meant everything to him, and his 68 years of marriage to Sharon was the joy of his life.

For two years, Doyle and Sharon lived in Puerto Rico doing voluntary service, and upon their arrival back to the states, Doyle became a lifelong dairy farmer.  He owned a registered Guernsey herd and had a passion for showing dairy cattle, enjoying many years of success at the Kansas State Fair as well as other national shows.

Doyle was a man of integrity who lived out his belief that all people are created equal.  He was involved in prison ministry, sang in a quartet, and he was involved in various capacities at his church.  In retirement, Doyle enjoyed working with his hands by making and restoring toys to display in his toy museum, making little trucks for Operation Christmas Child boxes, and making toys for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of Pfeifer, two sons Steve Neher and wife Jolene of Lawrence and Jeff Neher and wife Jesica of Pfeifer, two daughters, Pam Hernandez and husband Marcelo of Branson, MO and Vicki Stoll and husband Dave of Collinsville, OK, one brother Lyle Neher of McPherson, fourteen grandchildren Travis Stoll (Angie), Dustin Stoll (Rachel), Giovanni Hernandez (Jenika), Bianca Schenk (Jacob), Nayeli Frantz (Braeden), Christopher Neher (Savana), Katelyn Harman (Dustin), Kaleb, Karli, Ella, Esther, Mya, Joshua, and Tucker Neher, and nine great grandchildren Riley, Carter, Micah, Braden, Josiah, Payton, Shiloh, Salem, and Seriniti.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott Neher and wife Linda, and two brothers Dean and Gerald Neher.    

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at North Oak Community Church with Pastor Dustin Mulkey officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Plainview Mennonite Church Cemetery, Hutchinson.  Memorials are suggested to Operation Christmas Child, with checks made payable to North Oak Community Church (NOCC) with OCC written on the memo line.  Services are in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, and condolences and memories of Doyle may be shared with his family at www.haysmemorial.com
