
Jonda Kaye Keiswetter, 68, of Hays, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at HaysMed.
She was born January 14, 1957 in Norton County, Kansas to Keith and June (Sprague) Keiswetter. While living on a farm northeast of Lenora, Jonda attended school in Lenora, and in 1972, when her family moved to Norton she transferred to Norton Community High School, graduating in 1975. Jonda continued her education to become a Registered Nurse and retired from Rush County Memorial Hospital in LaCrosse in 2024.
Jonda loved to work on puzzles and handmade craft items. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed taking her produce to the farmer’s market, loved her chickens, and was frequently referred to as “the Chicken Lady”. She was a very devoted Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and KU basketball fan.
Survivors include her son Chance Keiswetter of Hays, sister Deborah (Steve) Persinger of Lenora, brother Louis (Jana) Keiswetter of Norton, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and June Keiswetter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
