CASA of the High Plains, Inc. is seeking a skilled individual to manage the Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”) program for the CASA of the High Plains, Inc. The goal of the program is to assist the Courts in the placement of children currently in the child welfare system due to alleged or confirmed abuse or neglect. The Executive Director’s primary responsibility is the administration of the CASA program on behalf of the Board of Directors. More specifically, the Executive Director’s responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all aspects of the CASA program, including report writing, ensuring compliance with all state, local, and national program requirements, and other day-to-day administrative tasks.

• Training, coordinating, and working with CASA volunteers before and during child in need of care cases filed in the 23rd Judicial District for the State of Kansas. This also includes recruitment and screening of all potential volunteers. 

• Attending court proceedings in Ellis, Rooks, Trego, and Gove counties.

• Management and development of the program’s finances, which shall include assisting the Board’s treasurer with development of a budget, identifying funding sources, grant writing, and fundraising. 

• Working with local, state, and national program individuals, Judges, court staff, and the Board of Directors.

Potential applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university;

• Three (3) years experience working in fields related to human services, business management, social work, criminal justice, psychology, communication, or education;

• Experience in public speaking, fundraising, and/or grant writing would be preferable;

• Passing a background check and completion of CASA volunteer training.

The Executive Director is a full-time, salaried position with a flexible schedule. Salary for qualified applicants is negotiable based on experience.
