A Kansas farmer whose land was bisected by a railroad claimed to have a bull that outran the train every day. He told the story to his town friends so often that he began to believe it. One day some of his town friends decided to check up on his bull story. The farmer saw them coming, so he told his wife about the story he was telling and added, "If they inquire about me, I am not home."
The friends came to the house and asked for the farmer. He wife said, "He's not home. He went to Chicago this morning."
"When will he return?" asked the friends.
"Tonight," replied the wife.
"Tonight!? Is he traveling by plane?" the friends asked.
"No," answered the wife. "He's riding the bull."
