KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State freshman Suzana Faucz was named the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after helping Fort Hays State to a 3-0 record in non-conference road matches last week.

Faucz went 6-0 overall for the week in singles and doubles play combined. She played two singles matches at the No. 3 position and one at the No. 2 position. She also played a pair of doubles matches at the No. 2 position and one at the No. 1 position with Irina Alfonso. Faucz had a key singles win in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-4)) at Sioux Falls, helping the Tigers to a tight 4-3 win. Faucz moved to 11-5 overall in singles play and 14-2 overall in doubles play with Alfonso for the season.

Faucz helped Fort Hays State extend its team winning streak to eight-straight matches. The Tigers sit at 9-2 overall for the season entering conference play this week.&nbsp;&nbsp;
