Fort Hays State Women's Basketball nudged up one spot in both the D2SIDA and WBCA National Polls, the latest editions released on Tuesday (Feb. 1). The Tigers are now No. 5 in the D2SIDA Poll and No. 6 in the WBCA Poll. They received one first-place vote in the D2SIDA poll.
The Tigers (17-2, 11-2 MIAA) went 1-0 last week, picking up a big win over nationally ranked Nebraska-Kearney on the road. The Lopers remained in the WBCA Top 25, but dipped to the receiving votes list in the D2SIDA poll. Missouri Western is also among the Top 25 of the WBCA poll.
Undefeated Glenville State remains No. 1 in the WBCA poll and No. 2 in the D2SIDA poll. Ashland is No. 1 in the D2SIDA poll and No. 2 in the WBCA poll.
Fort Hays State holds a half-game lead in the MIAA standings at 11-2, while Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Southern are 11-3. Missouri Western is a full game back at 10-3 in a stacked race for the MIAA regular season title.
Fort Hays State goes on the road for three straight games. The Tigers face Newman University in Wichita on Thursday night, then Central Oklahoma on Saturday in Edmond. FHSU will play its make-up game against Northeastern State on Monday that was postponed from earlier this season due to COVID-19 issues within the NSU program.
