Jesse Rocha Medina, 89, passed away May 30, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jesse was born January 11, 1932 in Offerle, Kansas to Sebastian and Julia Rocha Medina and raised in Kinsley, Kansas by his grandfather, Santiago Rocha and great aunt Lupe Rocha.  Jesse was active in high school sports lettering in track, basketball and football.    
  

Jesse enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18 and served in the Korean War between the years of 1951 and 1953 as a Forward Observer.

On October 9, 1954 Jesse married Amelia Garcia in Larned; Amelia preceded him in death on October 11, 1973.

He later married Darlene Heinrich on August 1, 1987 in Larned Kansas.

As a lifetime area resident, Jesse was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jesse held several professions in Larned, after attending trade school in Chicago for TV repair and became a small business owner of a TV repair shop in 1965, Facilities Electrical Maintenance Supervisor for Larned State Hospital and finally the maintenance supervisor at Diversicare of Larned nursing home before retiring at the age of 84.

Jesse is survived by his wife Darlene, Larned, three daughters, Patricia (Donnie) Harper, Larned, Linda (George) Spady, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Caroline “Sophia” Smith, Larned; two sons, Michael (Paula Michelle) Medina, Katy, Texas, Steven (Ruth) Medina, Houston, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amelia Garcia Medina; his grandparents; and infant brother Sebastian Medina Jr.

Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be Tuesday June 8th 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Vigil and Rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas with Military Graveside Rites.
