Eunice P. Martin

Eunice Anderson Olson Martin was born February 17, 1921 in Rawlins County, KS to Oscar and Vivian Anderson. She passed away November 6, 2020 at Stormont Vail in Topeka, KS.

She attended high school in Oberlin and, upon graduation in 1938, she began teaching grade school. Eunice went on to Fort Hays State University in the summers to further her education. She taught in a country school, Herndon, and Oberlin.

Eunice married Lowell Olson and to this union three children were born. They farmed on a farm south of Herndon until their retirement when they moved to Oberlin. Lowell passed away in August of 1980. After that, she began working in the flower shop, which she loved.

In 1989, she married Glenn Martin. They did a lot of traveling, enjoying their trips to many countries, as well as their travels throughout the United States. Glenn passed away in January of 2015.

Eunice is survived by three children, Candy (Ken) Rauhut of Garden City, KS, Connie (Bill) Robison of Littleton, CO, and Randy (Sharon) Olson of Oberlin. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Mark (Tara) Claussen, Ross Rauhut, Kristy (Matt) Ostmeyer, Brent (Molly) Olson and Kerrie (Nick) Wahlmeier; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lila Thorson and stepchildren, Glenna (Rod) Copeland, Barry (Molly) Martin and Terry (Connie) Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Vivian Anderson; husbands, Lowell Olson and Glenn Martin; sister, Violet Holle and one grandson, David Claussen.

Private family graveside services will be held at Oberlin Cemetery.
