City Manager Toby Dougherty has announced the appointment of Tom Howie as the new project manager for the city of Hays. He will assume his duties May 1.
Howie, a Hays resident, comes from the private sector, where he worked as a business consultant and project manager for various commercial and residential projects.
“Tom will be an immediate asset for the city of Hays," Dougherty said. "His skill set and private sector experience will bring a unique perspective to the position.”
Howie graduated from Regis University with a bachelor of science in operations management.
John Braun, the current project manager, will shift to full-time project manager of the R-9 water supply plan over the next couple of months, according to Collin Bielser, deputy city manager.
