PITTSBURG, Kan. - Fort Hays State's Emily Diercks-McCullough claimed her second-consecutive MIAA Cross Country championship Saturday morning, helping the Tigers to a sixth-place finish at the 2025 league meet.

McCullough completed the six-kilometer trek in 20:57.8, becoming just the second athlete in MIAA Championship history to break the 21-minute mark in a 6K. She is the first to repeat as MIAA Champion since Missouri Southern's Kimmi Shank did so in 2008-09. The Hoxie, Kan. native is the 13th student-athlete in league history to collect multiple cross country championships in a career.

Her title gave the FHSU women the individual champion for a third year in a row after Regan Hodsden also came away victorious in 2023.

Taylor Hoskinson was the next Tiger across the line, turning in a time of 22:36.8 to place 25th. Ashlyn Harbaugh finished in 30th place after crossing the line in 22:48.0, while Emma Weiner slotted 36th with a time of 22:57.1. Cate Wiese rounded out the Tiger top five in 46th place after traversing the course in 23:15.2.

The Tigers collected 137 team points on the day, finishing 23 points behind fifth-place Missouri Southern. Race host Pittsburg State collected the team title for a fourth year in a row with 55 points, just one point in front of Rogers State.

Fort Hays State will continue the postseason push in two weeks (Nov. 8) when Missouri Southern hosts the Central Region Championships in Joplin, Mo. The women's 6K is set to open the day at 10 a.m.
