Linda Agnes Zierlein

Linda Agnes (Wagoner) Zierlein, 78, passed away on January 19, 2022, at Holdrege, NE. She was born on May 12, 1943, in Colby, KS, the 6th of 11 children to Victor “Vic” and Bertha “Ella” (Depperschmidt) Wagoner.

Linda was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin. Linda attended Oberlin, Leoville, and Hoxie schools, graduating in 1961, then attended The Academy of Cosmetology in Salina, KS, graduating in in 1962. Also in 1962 she married Sgt. Andrew “John” Tucker and moved to Maine where they adopted a baby, Andrea Lynn. Later they were stationed in Arkansas and Mississippi. They divorced in 1974.

Linda married Elmer “Lloyd” Zierlein on November 13, 1976, and lived in rural Norton County, then in 2004 they moved to Norton. In 2018,  they retired in Holdrege, NE, later to move to Beaver City Manor.

She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, china painting, shopping, and giving gifts, always thinking of others. She was a member of St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Norton.

Linda is survived by husband, Lloyd Zierlein; daughter: Andrea (Dennis) Baranowski; grandchildren: Ashley, Phoenix, Eric and great granddaughter Novah; siblings: Vic (Doris) Wagoner, Violet Kinderchnect, Norbert (Reba) Wagoner, Arleen (Butch) Spresser, Rosalie (Bill) Bainter, Nick (Sheryl) Wagoner, Elaine Milkie, Roxie (Dave) Bruggemann, John Wagoner; brother-in-law: Voyle Miller and numerous niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:30AM at St. Francis of Assissi in Norton, KS. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St. Francis of Assissi. A rosary will be said at 6:00PM. Burial will be in Norton City Cemetery.
