On Thursday, HaysMed CFO Michelle Beckner and other HayMed team members connected with Fort Hays State University faculty and staff at the Benefits Fair.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with FHSU faculty and staff. HaysMed is proud to support the Tigers and the many families and businesses that make western Kansas home," Michelle Beckner, HaysMed chief financial officer, said in a statement to the Hays Post.

"We are advocating for our patients and working through difficult challenges today so we can continue providing the care our communities rely on for years to come. Our hope is to reach a fair agreement with BCBSKS that supports that future."

They also provided an update on the negotiations with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS).  The statement is as follows:

We know these negotiations can create uncertainty as you make important health care decisions during open enrollment.

While HaysMed and Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (PVCH) could be out-of-network with BCBSKS in 2027, negotiations are still ongoing.

We remain committed to working toward a fair agreement that protects access to local care for the patients and communities we serve.

We will continue to answer questions, share information, and help our community stay informed throughout this process.

If keeping HaysMed and PVCH in-network matters to you and your family, please take a moment to send our prewritten letter to BCBSKS and share why maintaining access to care close to home is important to you.
