Edmund 'Ed' John Giebler

Edmund "Ed" John Giebler, age 83, of Hays, Kansas passed away on November 20, 2020, at home in Hays, Kansas.  He was born December 30, 1936, in Elk County Kansas to Karl and Frances (Dechant) Giebler.  He graduated from Ellis High School in 1955.

Edmund worked as a brick layer in his early years, then retired from Cross Manufacturing.  He enjoyed raising Boston Terriers and pigeons, and watching the Steelers.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1959 to 1962.

He is survived by his children, Frank Giebler, Valley Falls, KS; Chris (Stacey) Giebler, Topeka, KS; and Tammie (Ron) Williams, Hays, KS; Grandchildren Kale (Kiley) Richmeier, Kyler Richmeier, Kaitlyn Richmeier, Kierra Richmeier and Lauren Giebler, Gabby Giebler, Gavin Giebler, Jayden Giebler and Christopher Giebler; step grandchildren Tyler Burd, Katie Earling, great grandchildren, Kyran Richmeier and Khali Richmeieras well as  brothers Anthony "Tony" Giebler and Lawrence "Larry" Giebler, both in Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Paul Giebler, August "Augie" Giebler, Celestine "Whitie" Giebler, his twin Edward Giebler and sisters Anna Giebler, Mary Knoll, Cecelia Boza and Rose Kisner.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 at 12:00 PM, St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ellis, Kansas. 

Visitation will be Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 at Brock’s Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine.

Memorials are suggested to Community Assistance Center in Hays, Kansas or The Humane Society of the High Plains, Hays, Kansas.
