Donald Fred Lennemann

Donald Fred Lennemann, son of Fred & Margaret ( Colgan) Lennemann, was born August 31, 1937 in Orleans, NE.  He passed away on April 27, 2021 at the Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, KS at the age of 83. 

He grew up on the family farm near Orleans where he attended school, graduating from Orleans High School.   After graduation, Don worked some odd jobs before enlisting in the US Army in 1955.  He was with the Military Police stationed in Korea.  Don was honorably discharged in August 1957 with the rank of Corporal.

On January 24, 1963, Don was united in marriage to Linda Mckellips in Oakley, KS.  This union was blessed with two children; Deborah & Daniel.  The couple made their home in Colby until 1968 when they moved to Phillipsburg where Don went to work for Permian Oil.  He worked there for about a year before going to work as a truck driver for Farmland Industries where he worked until his retirement.

Don’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, working in his yard & attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  He was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.

 In March of 2020, due to failing health, Don moved to Beloit where he was a resident at Hilltop Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joann Elley & his grandson Andrew Yates.

Survivors include his wife Linda of Webb City, MO; daughter, Deborah Yates & husband Jim of Carl Junction, MO; his son, Daniel & wife Gina of Phillipsburg, KS; grandchildren: Michael Yates & wife Evelin, Scott Yates, Jessica Conrad & husband Grant, Alivia McClain & husband Brett, Bethany Schneider & husband Matt & Stuart Lennemann; his sister, Lucille Weinand of Alma, NE & 8  great grandchildren.

A Rosary service will be held Sunday, May 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, in the SS Philip & James Catholic Church with Father George Chalbhagam officiating. The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.

Visitation will be from noon to 9:00 Sat. & Sunday at the funeral home.
