
Jimmy Lynn Gillum, age 74, passed away January 14, 2022. Jim was born
February 17, 1947, near rural Gem, KS in route to the Colby Hospital. He
lived out his recent years in Canon City, CO and passed away at the
Sheridan County Retirement Home.
Jim was passionate about people and rarely knew a stranger. He was a
dynamic Husband, Father, Grandfather & Friend to all. He was active
in Church, Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, Sunday School and Ministry
throughout his life. He was one of a kind. He Possessed a WILL and a
tenacity for life like no other. He was a cowboy, an avid dog &
horse lover, bull rider, angler, artist, hunter and endeavored many
entrepreneurial arrangements. Most importantly, Jim Loved His God and
Father-Jesus Christ.
Jim was preceded in death by his father W. Burl Gillum, mother
Dorothy M. Rall-Coon, stepdad Robert N. Coon and stepbrother Gary G.
Coon.
Jim was married to Donna Strickland-Gillum, Burlington, CO. Jim is
survived by his daughter, Angie Gillum and fiancé, Daniel of Johnstown,
CO. and his son Trey Gillum and wife, Joleen of Martinton, Illinois;
granddaughters, Ashley Gillum and Jaycie Cardenas; great-granddaughter,
Kynzly Cardenas of Westliffe, Co.; sister, Deb Crouch and husband Craig,
Goodland, KS and his brother, Gary Gillum and wife Clara of Hoxie, KS. ;
plus, many great-aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and step-family
members of whom he influenced deeply.
Jim graduated from Goodland High School, Goodland, KS. He attended
Jim Shoulder Bull Riding School. He also attended Sul Ross University of
Alpine, TX. Jim earned an Associate Degree from Colby Community
College, Colby, KS. Jim also completed Oregon University Horseshoeing
School, Corvallis, OR. Jim was an accomplished farrier throughout
Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. In later years, Jim also was an active land
developer and real estate marketer.

Sheridan Ave, Hoxie, Kansas 67740. Lunch will be served immediately
following.
