NEWTON – The Hays High
boys golf team finished in 11th place out of 21 teams at the Newton Invitational Thursday at the
Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Indians shot a 363. Derby won the team
title with a 316, Maize South was second at 320 and Dodge City came in third
with a 329.

Caleb Thompson led HHS
with a round of 82 and finished in 25th place. Braxton Banker shot an 87 and
placed 39th. Cooper Johnson fired an 94 and finished in 6 th place. Trey Oakley
finished 70th with a 96.

Jaydon Curruthers of
Derby won the individual title with a 1-under par 71.

The Indians host their
own Bob Blazer/HHS Invitational Monday at the Smoky Hill Country Club.
