Samuel David “Sam” Brown, 64, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at
Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born on February 17, 1958, at
Garden City the son of Leo S. & Phyllis M. (Forpahl) Brown. He
married Tammy Corter on March 14, 1987, at Dighton.
Sam attended Dighton schools and was involved in Boy Scouts in his
younger years. After his schooling he served in the Army National Guard
for 8 years while also working as a farm hand in Lane County, mainly
for Nelson Schwartz. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed
playing cribbage.
He is survived by his 2 Sons- Norman Oscar Brown of Huron Lake,
Minnesota and Tyler Golden & Crystal Brown of Scott City, Mother-
Phyllis Woodham of El Dorado, 2 brothers- Max & Pam Brown and Barry
& Melanie Brown both of El Dorado, Sister- Danna & Phil Steffens
of Scott City, 4 Grandchildren- Chloe, Forrest, Carlos & Tyler and
5 Nephews and 3 Nieces. He is preceded in death by his Father- Leo
Brown and 2 Brothers- Dean Brown and Bradley Brown.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home in
Dighton with Rev Darrin Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Healy
Cemetery in Healy. To honor Sam, the family invites you to wear Kansas
City Chiefs attire or colors to the service.
