Dylan Wayne Stephenson, son of Jay and Shannon
(Shellito) Stephenson, was born July 5, 2002, in Hays, Kansas. Dylan
began his eternal life in heaven on January 25, 2021.
Dylan
attended Smith Center Elementary School and Smith Center Jr. Sr. High
School until moving to Anthony, KS where he completed his high school
career at Chaparral High School; Graduating with the class of 2020.
Dylan was active in wrestling, football, and trapshooting at Chaparral
where he achieved numerous medals and accomplishments along with a love
for the sport. Dylan was always eager to work and help where he could
beginning with being a farmhand on his grandparents farm in Lebanon, KS.
His eagerness for working paved the way to him working at DLS
Underground in Harper, KS from the young age of 14. Dylan most recently
started a new career path as a painter at Harper Industries in Harper,
KS.
Dylan
is preceded in death by his grandparents: Jerry Joe Stephenson,
Katherine Boyette, Glen Pletcher; Great Grandparents: Duane and Lucille
Kugler, Alfred and Mattie Shellito; Biological Father: Kerry Pletcher.
Dylan
is survived by Jay and Shannon Stephenson of the home; Sisters Natasha
(Blake) Towery of Smith Center, KS, Lindsey (Dustin) Stansbury of
Harper, KS, Madison Conaway (Justin Struble) of Anthony, KS;
Grandparents Ed and Marian Shellito of Lebanon, KS, Gloria Stephenson of
Selma, NC, Debra Snead of Topeka, KS; Nieces Cabela, Kimber, and
Sterling Stansbury of Harper, KS; Best friend and love of his life
Cheyenne Lukens of Medicine Lodge, KS; A great many of Aunts, Uncles,
Cousins, and countless Friends.
Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021, at All
Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS, with Pastor
Mike Gooder officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, January
29, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will
take place at Custer Cemetery, Smith County, KS.
