William Eugene Bryan, of Plainville, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020, at the age of 55 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS.
He was born on
August 15, 1965, to James and Leanna (Black) Bryan in Oberlin, Kansas.
He was blessed with a son, Dustin, and later took in his grandchild to
raise when she was just a baby, Rose Morales, who they loving nicknamed
Peanut.
William was born and raised in Oberlin. He graduated from Decatur
Community Senior High School with the class of 1984. After his
graduation he went to Norwest Kansas Vo-tech school for auto-body and
later relocated to Plainville where he spent the remainder of his years.
He worked for Wilkens Manufacturing until his disablement. In
Plainville, he met and fell in love with his 17 year-long partner, Ruth
Drummond. He loved spending time with his daughter Peanut, the
grandkids, and centering his jokes around Ruth. He loved the outdoors,
fishing, and hunting. He also had a lot of fun with demo derbies and
working on vehicles. William was known for his selective hearing, his
stubbornness, and humor.
William is preceded in death by his second wife, Connie Bryan;
grandparents, Eldon and Mildred Black, and Dale Bryan; step-daughter,
Rebecca Drummond; and uncle Robert Bryan.
He is survived by his partner Ruth Drummond of the home; children,
Dustin Bryan of Salina, and “Peanut” Rose of the home; step –children,
Noel Morales of Hays, KS and Savannah Tollefsrud of Tampa, FL; parents,
James and Leanna Bryan; grandmother, Billie Bryan of Oberlin, KS;
brothers, Robert Bryan of McCook, NE, and Ben (Keri) Bryan of Oberlin,
KS; five grandchildren; and three nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the
Nazarene Church in Plainville starting at 11:00AM. Inurnment will be in
the Plainville Cemetery.
