Hays' Grove housing development receives $3.6 M grant for community center

Grow Hays is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a substantial Capital Project Funds grant of $3,597,250 from the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund for the construction of The Grove Community Center in Hays.

The Grove Community Center is set to become a cornerstone of the Hays community, providing essential services and resources to improve the lives of local residents. The 14,000-square-foot facility will house a new child care center, adding 77 child care spots, as well as a home for the Hays’ Senior Center.

With this generous grant from the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund, Grow Hays will be able to accelerate the construction and development of the community center, bringing it one step closer to reality.

"We are deeply grateful to the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund for their support in making the Grove Community Center a reality," said Doug Williams, executive director at Grow Hays. "This funding will have a profound and lasting impact on our community, enabling us to create a vibrant hub for multi-generational engagement."

The grant from the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund will be instrumental in ensuring that The Grove Community Center fulfills its mission of providing a safe and welcoming space for children, families and individuals in Hays and the surrounding area.
