THOMAS COUNTY—Five people were injured in an accident just after 10:30a.m. Wednesday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Ford Explorer driven by Karla Lynn Wessel, 71, Selden, was westbound on U.S. 24 at County Road 26.
The driver failed to yield and rear-ended a 2008 Ford Edge driven by Vickie Darlene St. Clair, 65, Stockton, who was stopped in a construction zone.
EMS transported Wessel, a passenger in the Explorer Leslie L. Paulson, 68 of Selden, St. Clair and two passengers in the Edge identified as Jacquelyn Marlene Werner, 77, Plainville and Vonda K. Pfeifer, 58, Stockton, to Citizens Medical Center. All five were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
