Jim Sweat, 70, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS.
Jim was born on October 18, 1952, in Smith Center, KS, the son of
Eugene Francis and J. L. (Stuckman) Sweat. On August 26, 1978, Jim
married Barbara Shellito in Smith Center, KS, to this union they were
blessed with two children, Laura and Lee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Sweat.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara Sweat of Smith Center; a daughter
Laura (Rhett) Kingsbury of Smith Center; a son Lee (Michelle) Sweat of
Cedar; two brothers, Vince (Judi) Sweat of Austin, TX, Don ( Ronda)
Sweat of Syracuse, NE; two sisters, Jean Sweat of Smith Center, June
Ankenbrundt of Olathe; four grandchildren, Sierra, Kinser, Camber and
Briggs Kingsbury all of Smith Center.
Funeral services will
be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at All Faiths Funeral
Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS, with Pastor Lance McDowell
officiating. Visitation will be held 8:00 until service time, Friday,
February 24th. Burial will take place in the Claudell Cemetery,
Claudell, KS.
Memorials may be given to the Smith County 4-H Club and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
