Dennis George Younger, age 73, of Ellis, Kansas, passed away on February 14, 2023, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
He was born May 23, 1949, in Hays, Kansas, to Baltzar and Helen (Pfannenstiel) Younger. He married Cherri (Walker) on May 23, 2005, in Hays.
He was an oil field truck driver hauling heavy equipment, and pipe for a number of years. Dennis grew up in Hays, attended Hays High School, and served four years in the US Navy. He enjoyed fishing, fixing up lawn mowers, tinkering in his shed, and watching old cartoons.
Survivors include his wife, Cherri Younger, of the home; his children, Amanda Northcutt and husband, Michael, Ft. Collins, Marc Younger, Victoria, KS; Chad Younger and wife, Courtney, Ellis, KS; his step children, Melanie Dreher, Kearney, NE; Crystal Nottingham, Hays, KS; his grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, Hunter Northcutt; Alyssa, Evan, Myah Younger; Ivory, Violet Younger; his great grandchild, Nova Younger; his step grandchildren, Sophia, Dalton, Blake Redfield; Andrew, Haley, Madison Nottingham; his step great grandchildren, Alaiya Redfield; Zen Lee Nottingham; his brothers, David younger and wife, Donna, Hays, KS; Donald Younger and wife, Kathy, Hays, KS; Tony Younger, La Crosse, KS; his sister, Barbara Paul, La Crosse, KS.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Robert James “Jimmy”Younger.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas, Kansas 67601 with Rev Troy Miller officiating. Inurnment will be at the WaKeeney Kansas Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial made payable to: Kansas Veterans Commission (for the Hays Veterans Transportation Van) in care of the mortuary.
