The Kansas State High School Activities Association has released the brackets for the state basketball tournaments.
The quarterfinal rounds will be played at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City, Tonyโs Pizza Events Center and Mabee Center at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Koch Arena and the Garvey Center at Friends University in Wichita, White Auditorium in Emporia and the Kansas City Kansas Community College Fieldhouse.
The 28 quarterfinal games on Tuesday, March 10 and the 28 quarterfinal games on Wednesday, March 11 will be assigned by the KSHSAA office based on proximity to the higher seed. If the distance between the lower seed and the appropriate site is greater than 250 miles the game will be played at a centrally located site. There will be no more than five games played in a day at any quarterfinal site.
The Hays High girls (23-1) are the two-seed in Class 5A and will play Kapaun Mt. Carmel (19-6) on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:00 p.m. at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina. The winner advances to the semifinals and will play either Shawnee Heights (21-4) or Basehor-Linwood (20-5) on Friday, March 13 at 3:30. p.m. at Koch Arena in Wichita.
The TMP-Marian boys (20-5) are the four-seed in Class 2A and will open with St. Marys (19-7) on Wednesday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina. The winner advances to the semifinals and will play either Sterling HS (25-0) or Douglass HS (13-11) on Friday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m. at White Auditorium in Emporia.
The Victoria boys (17-9) are the six-seed in 1A Division II and will face Lebo (19-7) on Tuesday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m. at White Auditorium in Emporia. If they win, they will face either Hanover (25-1) or Deerfield (16-9) on Thursday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. at White Auditorium in Emporia.
The Quinter girls (22-4) are the five-seed and will take on Centralia (22-3) at noon in Wednesday, March 11 at the Tony's Pizza Event Center in Salina. If they win, they will play either Little River (24-2) or Central Plains (18-8) in the semifinals on at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.
