Kansas couple hospitalized after SUV, semi crash

GOVE COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Tuesday in Gove  County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Peterbilt semi driven by Ronald Anthony Garcia, 36,  Commerce City, Colorado, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just before the Grinnell exit.

The driver failed to maintain a single lane and struck an eastbound 2020 Chevy Tahoe driven by Jack Nelson Buehler, 67, Wichita.

After impact the SUV rotated in front of the semi entered the south ditch traveled down the embankment and rolled, traveled through the KDOT fence and came to rest on its wheels in a field south of Interstate.

Vehicle One, pulling doubles, remained up right with the power unit halfway in the right lane and the two trailers in the ditch.

EMS transported Buehler and a passenger in the SUV Jaye Ann Buehler, 67, Wichita, to the Gove County Medical Center. Garcia was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
