Hays set a record high on Monday with a high of 110, according to the K-State Ag Research Farm.
The previous record high was 108, which was set in 1940.
The National Weather Service forecast for Hays today calls for a high of 97 with partly cloudy skies tonight and a 30% chance of rain.
The high for Wednesday is forecast for 95 degrees with another 30% chance of rain at night.
There is slight chance of rain Thursday and Thursday night with a forecast high of 97.
