NEWTON - The Hays High boys golf team finished in fifth place at the 16-team Newton Invitational at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course Thursday. It's the same course that will host the 5A state tournament next month.
Jason Krannawitter and Braden Hoskins both shot 7-over-par 79 and tied for ninth.
