Charles 'Charlie' Bratton Ring

Charles (Charlie) Bratton Ring was born May 14, 1989, in Laramie, WY. He passed away at Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS November 4, 2021.

After graduating High School in Pierre, SD he volunteered service in the United States Marine Corps during which time he was deployed overseas three times and earned numerous honors. He had a lifelong interest in mountain tops, deserts, oceans, and physical conditioning. He excelled in ice hockey, earning recognition as the South Dakota top high school goalie.  

He loved spear fishing in the Missouri River, scuba diving off the coast of California, fishing for sharks off the coast of South Carolina, hunting big game in the mountains, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, camping in the Arizonadesert, and riding his motorcycle cross country.  He completed a degree in Earth and Environmental Science, with a minor in Sustainability from the University of Arizona. 

Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ava and Charles Ring, and maternal grandfather John Ginther.

Survivors include his Grandmother Bonnie Ginther of Hays. mother, Carmen Ginther of Hays, father, Charles Ring of Lucas, a brother Dustin in Ellis and a sister Megan in Houston, TX.

A military service, with full honors, will be held November 23, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Veterans Cemetery in Wakeeney, KS. Directly following will be a slideshow/remembrance/celebration of his life at the VFW hall in Wakeeney, KS.
