SHERIDAN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 10:30a.m. Friday in Sheridan County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Toyota passenger vehicle driven by 18-year-old Devin C. Powell of Dodge City was northbound on Kansas 23 approximately 14 miles south of U.S. 24.
The vehicle left the roadway to the right, vaulted over a field entrance, continued northeast, entered a field, made a sharp right turn and rolled.
EMS transported Powell to Swedish Medical Center in Denver and a passenger Eldon M. Leighty, 18, Lakin, to the Sheridan County Hospital. Powell was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
