Hays Post Sports
The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association released its second regular-season boys and girls wrestling rankings Tuesday. The Hays High girls drop two spots to No. 9 in Class 5A and the boys dropped out of the rankings after holding down the No. 9 spot last week.
The Indians girls have five individuals ranked. Freshman Audrey Yarmer is third at 105, junior Kenlee Vehige is sixth at 120, senior Reese Vehige is sixth at 130, junior Timber Lovewell is fourth at 145, senior Lexi Barnett is fifth at 155.
The boys have four individuals ranked. Sophomore Geven Deneault is fourth at 106, senior Jonathan Rigler is third at 190, senior Jaxson Chartier is sixth at 215 and junior Tanner Geist is sixth at 285.
The Norton boys remain No. 1 in 3-2-1A with Hoxie second, Smith Center fourth, Russell eighth and Hill City ninth.
The Russell girls are ranked No. 1, Norton second and Plainville fourth
There are once again numerous area wrestlers ranked in Class 3-2-1A.
