Ellis County commissioners will focus on the 2027 county budget during Tuesday's meeting, including a review of operating budgets, capital improvement plans and a decision on whether to exceed the revenue-neutral rate.
County Administrator Darin Myers is expected to present the second draft of the 2027 operating budget, along with the first draft of the county's capital plans.
On Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, the County Commissioners will have special budget meetings with all department heads and elected officials to review their individual budgets.
Also on the agenda, commissioners will receive an update from Myers on the ACCESS Transportation Task Force and hear a report on the county's monthly financials.
911 communications Director Jeff Ridgway is scheduled to provide an update on the county's Xybix dispatch desk project.
In other business, commissioners are scheduled to hear an introduction from Kansas House candidate Mark Schaukowitch of Plainville before receiving the county administrator's report.
