πŸ€ Linenberger, Kieffer lead the All-WAC boys team

The Hays High boys basketball team landed four players on the All-Western Athletic Conference team released Tuesday, led by senior Jace Linenberger who was named WAC Player of the Year. He’s joined on the first team by Carson Kieffer. Jordan Dale and Noah Wiemer were named to the second team.

Linenberger averaged 18.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game this season while shooting 61-percent from the floor and 71-percent from the free throw line. Linenberger scored in double figures in all 22 games and had seven double-doubles. He finished his career with 938 points, fifth most in program history. His 461 career rebounds ranks eighth most in school history.

Kieffer averaged 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game this season. He led the Indians with 26 made 3-pointers. Kieffer finished his career with a new HHS record 392 assists. He is the only player in HHS history to land in the top 10 twice in single season assists and the only player to land in the top 25 three times.

Dale averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Weimer averaged 6.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game and was second on the team with 23 made 3-pointers.

Alex Hutchins was named the WAC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.

The Indians finished 20-2 with the two losses coming to 5A state champ Topeka Seaman in the sub-state finals and Lawrence-Free State who finished third at the 6A state tournament.
