Hays USD 489 school board to hear report on mental health program

The Hays USD 489 school board will meet at 6:30 tonight to hear a report on the Mental Health Intervention Teams at Hays High School and Hays Middle School.

Lyndsey Crisenbery, Hays High School, and Jamie Malone, Hays Middle School, will share information regarding the programs' successes. The programs are in partnership with High Plains Mental Health Center, Hays.

Superintendent Ron Wilson will give a bond update on Roosevelt Elementary School and HHS.

The board will consider a bid for $135,000 for the replacement of the Wilson Elementary parking lot as well as a  preventive maintenance service agreement with Glassman Corp. for $86,934.

The board also will consider district calendars for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years. Both are similar to this year's school calendar with one Monday off per both for in-service.

The board also will hear an audit report from Adams Brown and have a second reading on Kansas Association of School Boards recommended policy changes.
