Western Plains USD 106 released the following statement:
Today, April 30, 2026, Western Plains USD 106 received a phone call regarding a threat of violence against the school, specifically the Western Plains North campus. Lockdown procedures were initiated throughout the district, and law enforcement actively assisted with them at the North campus. Lockdown procedures went smoothly thanks to the efforts of our staff and our awesome students. The Western Plains community greatly appreciates the quick response that our emergency services provided to our district. Once law enforcement found no current threats at the school, students were dismissed throughout the district for the remainder of the day.
