Hays High outscored Sunrise by ten in the fourth quarter helping the Indians win 64-43.
A 9-0 first quarter run by Hays turned a two point deficit into the Indians first lead of the game at 11-4. A lead they would never give back. Hays led by as many as eight in the first frame before the Buffaloes knocked in a basket to beat the buzzer at 19-13.
The Indians lead grew to double digits in the second quarter and was at a high of 12 at halftime 32-20.
Highlights
Sunrise got as close as five points in the third quarter at 34-29. The Indians went on an 11-3 run to secure a 13 point lead. The lead in double figures 45-34 heading to the fourth quarter.
The Indians outscored the Buffaloes 19-9 in the fourth quarter for the 64-43 victory. Hays knocked down 12 of 13 free throws in the contest.

Sunrise 59, Hays 55
Hays couldn't overcome a sixteen point third quarter deficit as they fall to Sunrise 59-55.
The Indians led 9-5 in the first quarter and had the ball twice but couldn't extend the lead. Instead, Hays went without a field goal for the 4:30. The basket that broke the drought for the Indians gave them the lead at 12-10 early in the second quarter.
Sunrise made their first run of the game scoring the next nine points and grabbing the lead at 19-12. The Buffaloes outscored Hays 17-7 in the second for a 27-17 lead at halftime.
Highlights
Sunrise pushed their edge to a sixteen point margin midway through the third quarter with a 12-6 run. Hays trailed 39-23 when they started to chip away at the lead. The Indians closed the third quarter on a 10-3 run and extended it to a 17-3 run with the first seven points of the fourth quarter. That run brought Hays within two points at 42-40. Sunrise answered right back with one of their eleven three pointers.
The Indians again pulled within two points at 45-43 but had a breakaway layup blocked that would have tied the game.
Hays again got within two points at 51-49 on a pair of free throws with 2:39 remaining. The Buffaloes again had the answer as they scored back to back field goals and led 55-49. The final two point deficit came at 57-55 with twenty second remaining but Sunrise hit a pair of free throws for the final of 59-55.
