Resurfacing work on U.S. 24 in Graham County is expected to begin soon.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves a mill and overlay on 17.5 miles of roadway from the Sheridan County line to the east city limits of Hill City. In addition to U.S. 24, K-84 into Penokee and K-85 into Morland will also be resurfaced.
Work is scheduled to begin on Sept. 9 and be completed in mid-October, conditions permitting.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane where crews are actively working and directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.
Venture Corp., of Great Bend, is the primary contractor with a total contract cost of $4.7 million.
