Edna M. Augustine, age 82, of Ellis, Kansas passed away July 9, 2026 at her home in La Crosse, Kansas. She was born August 26, 1944 in Liebenthal, Kansas to Joseph and Barbara (Obholtz) Depperschmidt.
Edna was a lifetime resident of Ellis. She was a homemaker who enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and loved watching Wheel of Fortune.
On January 4, 1964 she married Francis J. Augustine at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis. They later divorced.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Brenda Urban (Steve) of Hays, Wanda Augustine of Hays and Loretta Akins (Orlin) of Hillsboro, Oregon; grandchildren, Skyler Urban (Ashley) of Seatle, Washington, Kiara Schwindt (Carlos) of Wichita, Kade Urban of Topeka, Chandra Augustine (Taylor Hammond) of Ellis and Mason Akins of Hillsboro, Oregon; a great grandchild, Koda Akins; a brother, Leo Depperschmidt of Garden City and a sister, Angela Archer of La Crosse.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Augustine; a daughter-in-law, Kayla Augustine; her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Edward Depperschmidt; three infant brothers, Otto, Edward and Joseph Depperschmidt; four sisters, Lillian Dinges, Helen McLaughlin, Mary Ann Brandt and Dorothy Bittel ; and one infant sister, Frances Depperschmidt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Keithley Funeral Homes-Ellis Chapel 400 E. 17th in Ellis. Burial will take place at 2:30 PM in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Liebenthal, Kansas.
Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM followed by a rosary service all at the funeral chapel.
