Delsie Lavon Bittel, 62, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.
Delsie was born August 30, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Snow and Verla (Dighton) Houchin. She was a resident of La Crosse, Kansas, for 12 years, moving from St. John, Kansas. She was a 1976 graduate of Great Bend High School, Great Bend, Kansas. She graduated from Barton County Community College, Great Bend, Kansas, before continuing her education at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, where she received her bachelor’s degree in political science. She was a forklift operator for Fuller Industries, Great Bend, Kansas, before her retirement.
She married Daniel J. Bittel at Great Bend, Kansas.
Survivors include: her husband, Daniel J. Bittel, La Crosse, Kansas; two sons, Adam Houchin, Liberal, Kansas, and Tyler Bittel, Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Melody Bittel, Fort Collins, Colorado; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Snow Coffield, Great Bend, Kansas, and Sherri Byerley, Great Bend, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jackie Miller; and two sisters, Marilyn Mumford, and Laura Sandberg.
The family will have a memorial service in the future.
