CHEYENNE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6a.m. Monday in Cheyenne County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Peterbilt semi driven by William Wilger, 62, St. Francis, was eastbound on U.S. 36 eight miles east of St. Francis.
The driver lost control due to icy roads. The semi entered the south ditch struck a culvert, went airborne for a brief time then landed back in the ditch.
EMS transported Wilger to the Cheyenne County Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
UPDATED 12:35 p.m. Jan. 22 to clarify Wilger was properly restrained.
