Snow and bitterly cold temps in Hays; wind chill warning until Tuesday

With a high of just 12 degrees in Hays Saturday, the overnight low fell to -4 degrees as light snow fell.

The wind chill at 8 a.m. Sunday was -14 degrees according to the official report from the K-State Agricultural Center.

A wind chill warning until 11 a.m. Tuesday for much of the area, including Ellis County, has been issued by the National Weather Service in Dodge City.

Hays received 2.5 inches of snow overnight, yielding 0.05 inches of moisture. It is the first snow in February for Hays.
