
Joseph Henry “Joe” Jennings, 64, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.
He was born in Oakley, Kansas, the son of Leroy F. and Lucille M. Jennings. He was a 1974 graduate of Oakley High School.
Joe worked as a salesman in Colby, Hays and Topeka.
Joe
married Nancy Blecha. She preceded him in death in 1982, as well as
their daughter, Meagan. He married Karla (Kushner) Ewing on September 9,
2005 in Topeka. Survivors include his wife, Karla, of the home and
three children, Andrew Jennings of Prairie Village, KS, Zachary
(Elizabeth) Jennings of Ft. Worth, TX and Evan (Kristine) Ewing of
Silver Lake, KS; seven grandchildren, Samuel Tindell, Haley Jennings,
Lauren Jennings, Silas Jennings, Elijah Jennings, Stephanie Ewing and
Ethan Ewing; his mother, Lucille Jennings of Hays, and siblings,
Jo
Ann (John) of Hays, Mary of Wichita, Monica (Doug) of Hutchinson,
Daniel (Amy) of Colby, Greg (Tammy) of Garden Plain, Mark (Debb) of
Wichita, Liz (Terry) of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer (Chris) of Olathe; many
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his feline companions, Elsa
and Anna.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, David and Jeffrey.
Joe
was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was
an avid sports fan, including Kansas City Chiefs, K.C. Royals, KU
Jayhawks and loved to work on crossword puzzles.
A celebration of
life will be held in the summer of 2021. Dove Cremations and Funerals,
Southwest Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be
