
The National Weather Service is calling for near-record high temperatures Thursday across western Kansas.
The high is the Hays area is expected to reach to the mid- to upper-90s, with winds of 10 to 15 mph, increasing to 18 to 23 mph in the afternoon.
Friday will bring a dramatic cooldown, with a high of 71 expected. There is also a slight chance of showers or storms late Friday night. The high temperature on Saturday is only expected to reach the low 50s.
More chances of precipitation are possible beginning Sunday night and continuing into Wednesday.
